Les musées, parcs d’attractions, centres sportifs, et j’en passe, rouvrent leur porte au public !!
Enfin !!! On a attendu et attendu mais on va enfin pouvoir retrouver une vie sociale et culturelle !
Et parmi tout ça, se trouve le zoo d’Amiens ! Eh oui c’est pour aujourd’hui !
Je n’y suis pas allée depuis 2019, alors je me demande bien quelles sont toutes les rénovations qui y ont été effectuées. Mais je sais qu’il est désormais possible d’y observer des tigres, ce qui n’était pas le cas à l’époque.
Il y a donc 2 ans j’y suis allée avec Lily, l’une de mes étudiantes en immersion de français, qui avait d’ailleurs pour l’occasion décidé de partager avec vous son expérience :

Finally !!! We waited and waited but we will finally get back to a social and cultural life!
And among all this is the Amiens Zoo! Yes it is for today!
I haven't been there since 2019, so I'm wondering what all the renovations have been done there. But I do know that it is now possible to see tigers there, which was not the case then.
So 2 years ago, I went there with Lily, one of my French immersion students who had, incidentally, written about her experience:

« Aujourd’hui, je suis allée au zoo à Amiens avec Eliane, ce qui était vraiment sympa, particulièrement parce que le temps était magnifique.
Dès que nous sommes entrées, il y avait beaucoup de singes dans un grand espace ouvert avec de nombreux arbres sur lesquels ils se balançaient de corde en corde.
Je pense que le zoo se soucie beaucoup de ses animaux et un très bel habitat a été créé pour eux !
Même si le zoo n’est pas très grand, il est facile de rater des choses. Nous recherchions les suricates depuis longtemps quand Eliane a dit : “c’est la seule chose que nous n’avons pas encore vue ! On finira par les trouver !”.
Quand nous sommes arrivées, j’ai dit : “Nous sommes déjà venues ici avant !”
Nous y étions 30 minutes avant mais nous ne les avions pas vus parce que leur enclos était vraiment caché ! Alors quand nous les avons trouvés, Eliane a dit : “Enfin, nous sommes arrivées ! Et regarde comme ils sont mignons !”.
C’est vrai qu’ils étaient mignons ! Mais pas aussi mignons que les manchots !
Nous avons pris une photo avec l’un d’entre eux qui était sur un tronc d’arbre.
C’était vraiment une super journée !»

« Today I went to the zoo in Amiens with Eliane which was really nice, especially because the weather was beautiful.
As soon as we got in there were a lot of monkeys in a big open space with many trees on which they swang from rope to rope.
I think that the zoo cares a lot about its animals and a really beautiful habitat has been created for them!
Even though the zoo is not very big it is easy to miss things, we were looking for the meerkats for a long time when Eliane said: “it’s the only thing we haven’t seen yet! We will eventually find them!”.
When we got there I said : “We have already been here before!”
We had been there 30 minutes before but we hadn’t seen them because their enclosure was really hidden! So when we found them Eliane said: “Finally we are here! And look how cute they are!”.
It’s true they were cute! But not as cute as penguins!
We took a photo with one of them that was on a tree stump.
It was really a great day ! »
Mon expérience :
Personnellement, j’ai toujours été partagée concernant les zoos. D’un côté quand je me balade parmi tous ses animaux exotiques, je me sens comme une gamine, d’un autre côté je ne peux m’empêcher de me dire qu’ils seraient mieux dans la nature.
Mais le zoo d’Amiens est tellement investi dans la sauvegarde de la biodiversité que j’ai tendance à apprécier ma visite sans la moindre trace de culpabilité.
Il a d’ailleurs reçu un trophée en 2018 pour son implication dans la conservation des espèces menacées, et l’avancée des recherches scientifiques et en particulier pour son soutien financier des associations dans ce domaine.
Et en dehors de son investissement, le zoo est vraiment très joli et paisible. C’est très agréable de se balader dans ce parc sous le soleil !

Personally, I have always been divided about zoos. On the one hand when I walk among all its exotic animals, I feel like a kid, on the other hand I can't help but think that they would be better off in the wild.
But Amiens Zoo is so invested in conserving biodiversity that I tend to enjoy my visit without the slightest hint of guilt.
He also received a trophy in 2018 for his involvement in the conservation of endangered species, and the advancement of scientific research and in particular for his financial support from associations in this field.
And apart from its investment, the zoo is really very pretty and peaceful. It is very pleasant to walk in this park under the sun!
