đż Learning French by Living It: Why Immersion at a Teacherâs Home Changes Everything

Real Immersion, Every Day
When most people think about learning French, they imagine a classroom full of students, a whiteboard, and a teacher trying to split attention among twenty different levels, needs, and personalities.
But learning French at a teacherâs home in France? Thatâs something completely different â and much more powerful.
Here in Occitanie, my students donât just âstudyâ French. They live it. From breakfast conversations to trips to the market, from cooking together to afternoons or evenings on the terrace, French surrounds you naturally.
Unlike in a school, where you might get only a few hours of structured lessons and then switch back to your native language with classmates, immersion at a teacherâs home means you are constantly surrounded by French â in real-life situations. And that changes everything.
Lessons Adapted to Your Needs
The biggest difference? In my home, I teach only you. That means no âwaiting for your turnâ, no feeling lost because the lesson is too fast (or too slow).
We focus entirely on your goals: whether itâs conversation, pronunciation, professional French, or simply building confidence to finally speak freely.
This is what makes a private French immersion program so effective compared to big group lessons.
More Than Students â Real Friendships
What makes me happiest as a teacher isnât just seeing my students improve (even though they always do!) â itâs the friendships we build along the way.
Some of my former students became so close they even came to my wedding đ. Others returned years later to meet my little daughters after they were born đ¶. Thatâs how strong the bonds become.
Learning French here means joining a family, not just attending classes.
Why Immersion at a Teacherâs Home vs a Language School?
At a school: group lessons, divided attention, limited speaking practice, little exposure to French life.
At home: one-to-one focus, flexible pace, natural conversations, real-life immersion from morning to night.
This difference is what allows immersion students to progress so much faster â they practice all the time, without even realizing it.

đ Feel at Home While Learning French
An immersion stay with me is not just about verbs and grammar â itâs about living French as part of a family.
We laugh, we share meals, we explore Occitanie together, and little by little, French stops being âa foreign languageâ and starts feeling like your language.
